As with past anniversaries, the Unified Court System and New York County Supreme Court remembers the three Court Officers who made the supreme sacrifice: Captain Harry Thompson, Sergeant Thomas Jurgens and Sergeant Mitchel Wallace. One of the most enduring images of September 11 is The Falling Man, shot by Associated Press photographer Richard Drew. Many in uniform lost their lives that day in their efforts to save others. This was followed by a ceremony at 111 Centre Street. Across the country, people are pausing to honor the victims and reflect on the day.
